Join gem expert Eva Meijer, founder of Eva Gems & Jewels, and The Jewellery Cut co-founder Rachael Taylor for a series of talks exploring the world of coloured gemstones.

Over the next month, jewellery journalist Rachael and Eva – a gemmologist who left behind a career in the corporate world to follow her passion for gems by setting up bespoke jewellery business Eva Gems & Jewels – will host three talks exploring different facets of our fascination with coloured gems. Which gemstones are we drawn to and why?

The series of gem talks, which you can join on Instagram Live, will kick off this Friday (January 29^th, 2021) with an exploration of the healing properties of gems. Discover which gems claim to offer boosts to your health, wealth and happiness, and find out what it was that turned Eva from a cynic into a believer.

“Healing gems has been a huge trend in jewellery – one that has been supercharged by the pandemic as we have sought out protective talismans, and also taken more time to get to know our own bodies and minds,” says Rachael. “We’re looking forward to sharing some of the science behind these theories, as well as the ancient mythology that has made some gems covetable as amulets throughout the centuries.”

This healing gemstones talk will be followed by a second discussion on February 12^th, 2021, which will be a deep dive into the fascinating world of tsavorite garnets. The third talk, on February 26^th, 2021, will be a fun exploration as to why we are so drawn to pink gemstones, and an explanation of the properties of the most popular pink gems, as delivered by gemmologist Eva.
