Following on from her appearance at The Jewellery Cut Live, social media superstar Katerina Perez will host an in-depth workshop in London this week tailored to helping jewellery brands sell more jewels through Instagram.
Instagram has become a popular space to discover and buy jewels, with some brands selling pieces worth hundreds of thousands of pounds through seemingly simple homemade Instagram stories. Such Instagram sales success stories, from silver trinkets to rare Paraiba tourmalines, are rife, but how easy is it to turn likes into purchases?
“We all know too well that selling jewellery on Instagram is not a straightforward process,” says Perez, who joined The Jewellery Cut co-founder Rachael Taylor to discuss Instagram strategies at The Jewellery Cut Live earlier this month. “It requires skills and knowledge in areas ranging from copywriting, photography, creating engaging content to promoting your jewellery and finding the right audience to sell it to.”
Perez, founder of KaterinaPerez.com, is known for her in-depth knowledge of Instagram and its intricacies, which she has built up during her years as a jewellery influencer. She has grown her own highly engaged following to 260,000 and also consults with jewellery brands on their social media strategy.
During a three-hour practical workshop, held on Thursday evening in central London, Perez will share some of her Instagram wisdom with a small group of 25 attendees.
The focus of the session will be how to sell jewels through Instagram, with topics covered including: identifying your target audience; choosing the best images; caption writing; shoppable links; hashtag strategies; native advertisements, targeted ads and working with bloggers; case studies of successes and failures.
There will also be a surprise guest at the seminar, with Perez bringing in a well-known jewellery designer to talk to the attendees about their own experiences of selling through Instagram.
“I will share with you my knowledge of Instagram sales garnered throughout six years,” says Perez. “Only 25 participants will be exposed to the essential theoretical knowledge enriched with a wealth of examples and mixed with numerous case studies as well as stories of success.”
