How much do you know about peridot? This grass-green gem was worshipped by the Egyptians and used as a rallying cry by the Suffragettes, and some examples landed on Earth via meteorites. To discover more about this fascinating gemstone, join us for a special discussion with two of jewellery’s leading figures.
At The Jewellery Cut Live in association with Fuli Gemstones, visitors will be treated to the coming together of two powerhouse figures in jewellery. Taking us on an insightful, illustrative tour of peridot will be BBC Antiques Roadshow jewellery expert Joanna Hardy, who is a Fellow of the Gemmological Association, lecturer, author and Liveryman of The Goldsmiths’ Company. Joanna also joined us on the judging panel for this year’s The Jewellery Cut Live Bursary – the winner of which will be announced next week.
“Peridot is steeped in history, from royal references going as far back as the Egyptians and I can’t imagine anyone more fitting whom could bring peridot’s colourful past to life than Joanna Hardy,” says Fuli Gemstones chief marketing officer Pia Tonna. “Joanna is passionate about jewellery and gemstones and her in-depth knowledge is second to none. She is a true genius in conjuring up images in our minds when describing her specialist subject. I am looking forward to hearing Joanna’s educational talk on peridot.”

At the talk on October 15th, 2021, at The Royal Institution in London, Joanna will be joined by leading British jewellery designer Annoushka Ducas MBE, who will share her personal experience of working with peridot, and what the gemstone means to her.
Annoushka recently collaborated with Fuli Gemstones on a suite of one-of-a-kind transformable peridot jewellery. The Annoushka Radiance collection will be on display at The Jewellery Cut Live in the Fuli Gemstones lounge.
By booking a ticket to Discover Peridot with Joanna Hardy and Annoushka Ducas MBE, you will also be supporting the charitable endeavours of speaker Annoushka, as 25% of the proceeds from ticket sales will be donated to her charity Brilliant Breakfast. This project, which runs from October 11th to 17th and invites everyone to host a fundraising breakfast, is supported by The Prince’s Trust and supports young women in the UK to build a more positive future.
