British designer Annoushka Ducas MBE, founder of the luxury jewellery brand Annoushka, has collaborated with miner Fuli Gemstones to create a high jewellery collection centred around large and unique peridot gemstones from the Yiqisong Nanshan mine in China.

Composed of a three-pendant necklace, a choker, three earring sets and a lavish cocktail ring, the Radiance collection of one-of-a-kind jewels combines bold colours with pared-back designs. The eye-catchingly bright colours of the luminous Fuli Gemstones peridot match beautifully with malachites and pink sapphires, coupled with 18ct yellow gold.

Bold in colour and size, these pieces are versatile in their ability to be transformed and worn in a multitude of ways. The centre stone of the cocktail rings unclips at the shank and can be added to the choker, whilst the choker itself can be worn alone as a sweeping line of sleek, smaller princess-cut Fuli Gemstone peridots, or built up to deliver more drama with the detachable pendants.

Mesmerised by the “zingy green” colour of the peridot, Annoushka looked to nature for inspiration when designing around the gemstones. “The colour of peridot connects me to nature – whether it’s lush green fields in Sussex or the plains of Africa,” she says.

Annoushka’s love of Art Deco also played a key role in the creation of the Radiance collection. “One of the things I love about Art Deco is its total balance and symmetry – it’s extravagant yet completely pared back,” she says. “I designed my engagement ring in this style 30 years ago and I haven’t ever taken it off – it’s completely timeless and a big inspiration for this peridot collection.”

With environmental awareness being a key component of the Annoushka brand, the designer was delighted to work with a mine that is not only environmentally responsible, but socially ethical. “I have always loved peridot, so it’s been a privilege working with Fuli Gemstones on this collection, designing with some of the best-quality peridot in the world,” she says. “Having full visibility on the whole process is something very important to me and to the business. I can’t wait to visit the mine.

Fuli Gemstones’ peridot mine is located in the foothills of the tranquil Changbai mountains in China. The Yiqisong Nanshan mine is surrounded by lush forest that emulates the colours of the gems themselves.

The Annoushka x Fuli Gemstones Radiance collection will be on display at The Jewellery Cut Live in association with Fuli Gemstones. Held on October 15th & 16th, 2021, at The Royal Institution in London’s Mayfair the event will bring together jewellery lovers for two days of shopping and talks.
